Purchase Terms and Conditions
All payments of insurance premiums using the online credit card facilities are subject to the following conditions.
- Shepherd General Insurance Inc. accepts the following cards:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- Interac Debit (if signed up with online banking)
- When you complete the online payment form, funds will be deducted from your credit card or directly from your bank account in Canadian currency.
- Payments are deposited and held “in Trust” in the Shepherd General Insurance Inc., trust account until they are transferred to the respective insurance company
- Credit card payments are secure:
- Credit card numbers are protected with a high level of encryption using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology when transmitted over the Internet.
- Confirmation:
- If successful, you will be provided a confirmation that your payment was received.
- If unsuccessful, you will be advised that your payment has failed. Shepherd General Insurance will not be advised why a payment has failed, therefore, you should contact your credit card provider for details.
- The Shepherd Group will confirm your payment details via email.
- All information you provide on the credit card payment form will be handled in accordance with Shepherd General Insurance Inc.’s privacy statement.
- Shepherd General Insurance Terms and Conditions for online credit card payments are subject to change at any time. Each transaction shall be subject to the specific Terms and Conditions that were in place at the time of the transaction.
- Refund Policy: Insurance premiums collected online are placed directly into Shepherd General Insurance Trust Account and are automatically transferred to the respective insurance company. If a refund is due to the client for any reason, it is the responsibility of the insurance company that the client purchased their insurance with to refund the funds to the client. (the Insurance Company name is clearly identified on the application at time of purchase)
